Has the TU site been down for everyone else for the last 12 hours? Perhaps they are trying to boost circulation of the dead tree version?

For those unable to get your hands on the paper version - it is cold outside and will be getting colder. The economy sucks. the us is fighting two wars, israel is fighting one Patrick McGoohan, star of "the Prisoner", has died.

if this outage is a marketing exercise -- to see how many more people will buy the paper, especially its biggest weekday edition, if the website is down.

something just went seriously wrong.

I've never seen a site of that magnitude be down for so long.

so the TU has lost about a day's worth of traffic and related clicks on ads.

But I'll bet they sold a few hundred/thousand more papers today.

And the Gazette laid off 16 more people today.
