Remember back when Jerry Jennings held a fund raiser for John Sweeney. I wasn't there. But I bet their good buddy Bill Powers was there. Those were the good old days. Lots of talk of a Permanent Republican Majority in the US of A. John Sweeney had a fancy George W Bush nick name (Congressman Kickass) and Jerry Jennings was right at home with his political and ethically challenged peers. And odds are Joe Bruno was at the party as well. Now 2 of 4 of those guys are the focus of two FBI investigations, the FBI just raided the other guy's office and the last one is fighting like hell to keep his waste disposal business working so he can continue to accept below market contracts from people in the garbage business. He is the "clean" one. Chickens , meet roost.
Federal law enforcement agents have raided the offices of an influential lobbying firm in Albany as part of the latest investigation connected to the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal in Washington.The Times Union seems to think Powers is also coming under scrutiny.
