I realize that some of the things included on this blog might be offensive to some people. It is unfortunate that is comes to that at times. If you are offended by these things, you may not want to read the following, which I find offensive.
Mayor Jennings in November 2007:

“I put a responsible budget together with the least amount of impact on the taxpayers in the city.”
And now a mere four months into the year (stop reading if you are easily offended), we get this
Jennings said he is continuing to seek additional state aid from Gov. David Paterson, but with the state's own $5 billion deficit, he needs to plan for a potential shortfall.

"Right now everything is under review," Jennings said Friday. "I've told my department heads to look for ways to save money."
A mere four months. I find that offensive.

so few department heads are competent readers...

Likewise, personnel costs make up about 70% of the city's budget and Jerry, in a backhanded way,  has no intention of laying off "non-permanent/temporary hires" especially those with more than nine months of continuous city service(whom, of course, NYS Civil Service law says.... shouldn't be on the payroll in the first place).

Yuk!
