Con Center - Wait in Vain

Looks like the Governor is scrapping some state spending plans down in the big NYC.
Paterson said it may be time to admit to the public that there may not be enough cash to pay for all of the projects in the pipeline, a list that includes Moynihan Station and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion.
Admit to the public! Psst. Here is a little secret. We the public know our government is flat ass broke and deeply in debt at all levels. Maybe it is time you admit to yourselves that the happy days of borrow and spend are over.

I'd say the reality is that if they can't play "Pimp My Center" at Javitz, then we won't be building a new one here in Albany.

Meanwhile, the people running the Albany Convention Center Authority, all on full time salaries and renting a full time office, claim they are all done with their work and will just be waiting to see if the state funds the project. We should find out in the next 6 weeks or so. Looks like its a 6 week paid vacation for those people. Your money hard at work.
With the fate of the proposed Albany Convention Center undecided, authority officials say they are almost out of work to do as they await a final decision on funding.
They will be "awaiting" on the clock.

Yesterday was a nice day, good for golfing.  Today doesn't look that great.  There are those new movie theaters over in Colonie.  And one can always see just how long of a lunch one can take.  All kinds of options.

I very much doubt there will be and more funding provided by the state than has already been approved and I will be most surprised if this project ever breaks ground.

Wonder when Gov. P. is going to drop the bomb on the billion dolar AMD project telling them it's a no-go?

was that a world class theater arts district you promised the voters?  Oh wait, it was the IMAX theatre, no, no, it is the convention center that we are waiting for along with re-development of the hudon river waterway, the corning preserve, central avenue, Arbor Hill Community Center.
Now lets see, what have you brought to Albany?  Oh yes, thats right...Jillians, the Pearl, The Barge, the Envy Lounge, the new and IMPROVED Martels at the Golfcourse, you really have a great time there on Friday Nights....Yes, Mayor, Albany is a great place, if you need a drink!
