Do they realize how funny these things are? "concrete jungle"? Does that make those of us who live downtown "concrete apes"?
Now, the club owners want to improve the location by demolishing two brick structures, opening the area and using it for a parking facility.

In the course of major improvement, the owners will surround the area with a wrought-iron fence with matured greenery, enhancing the historic site with a parklike ambience.

Demolishing the buildings will change the concrete-jungle appearance that is apparent with that stretch of Washington Avenue, a great improvement for the city in general.

We must applaud Herb Shultz, vice president of the club, for sacrificing thousands of dollars in real estate to improve the historic site.

The city agencies that will have to approve the proposal should act diligently and without hesitation in an effort to help with the city's revitalization.
The author fails to note that these are two fine brick buildings currently occupied by paying tenants. Do brick buildings make up concrete jungles?

Improvement by Demolition. Let the elite park close to their Fort so they don't have to walk by the concrete apes!
