Albany Legislature and the Convention CenterBy DIA, Section News
Tonight the Albany County legislature will be discussing the hotel tax and funding for the convention center. Chris Higgins is proposing that they table this issue until they know more about the status of the center. Here is what the governor's people had to say when asked about the extra $200 million that would be required to build it:
"We continue to review the proposal," said Jennifer Givner, a spokeswoman for Gov. Eliot Spitzer. "We're facing very difficult financial times."Ok then. Seems reasonable that the legislature should give Higgins' proposal some serious thought. So, let your representative know that you think they should consider supporting Higgins and working on your behalf.
