There's a post on Capitol Confidential saying a Tonko-Burhmaster debate will be broadcast on WHMT (Channel 17, PBS affiliate) on Thursday, October 16.  Is this 10/13 standoff at Albany Law the meat of the eventual broadcast, or do we have two debates in the next week coming up?

Big new job starts today...I'll see what I can do.  Thanks for the info, Layman!

Looks like there are two debates.  The one at Albany Law on 10/13 and then another televised debate on 10/16.  Links here and here.

I could not find any location or event info for the televised debate.  Perhaps they want you rabblerousers to stay home, where you can only heckle your own television.

Thanks for the confirmation, Layman.  You've proven to be an invaluable accomplice to my hijinks :-)

Oh...and here's a little nugget that proves that we reputable bloggers are way better at reporting the facts than the Times Onion:  apparently, they're so caught up in the whole Conners audit of Soares office, they mix-up completely who's debating who in the DA's race on Tuesday.  I quote:

The audit comes on the eve of a debate between Conners and Roger Cusick, a Republican running on the GOP-hatched Integrity Party.

Emphasis added

For the record, the debate will be between David Soares, the current District Attorny, and Roger Cusick, his challenger.  Albany County Comptroller is not seeking the office of District Attorney, he's just auditing it.

And now, an analogy:

The Times Union is to journalism as oil is to water.  Touche!
