Spitzkrieg?

I'm not sure if any other democrats are going to comment on this report, but I am. If this is true I've got a real problem with it and I think Spitzer needs some management training. Wouldn't be the first Harvard lawyer to need it.
"Listen, I'm a fucking steamroller, and I'll roll over you and anybody else," Democrat Spitzer angrily yelled at Tedisco - who was driving in his car and speaking on a cellphone, sources familiar with the conversation said.

Spitzer then boasted about his political strength, saying, "I've done more in three weeks than any governor has done in the history of the state," the sources said.
This just in, it is now known as the Spitzer Canal and school children will now sing the new lyrics "15 miles on the Spitzer Canal".

Say what you want about Jimmy Disco and his odd fashion sense, and of course he has no power so he can be the one actually speaking about ethics and honesty, but he has consistently been the most sane sounding "leader" for the past year on issues. It's discouraging if Spitzer is behaving this way. Now if he wants to talk that way to Shelly and Old Man Bruno, be my guest. But to talk that way to Jimmy D over what seems like a reasonable request? That is wrong.

And until my taxes go down, the schools get better and health insurance is affordable, don't talk to me about accomplishments.

The only upside is, if this is an accurate report, I'm even more excited about the idea of Jerry Jennings being his head of OGS.

On a side note, didn't inaugural musician James Taylor have a song with the lyrics,"i'm a fucking steamroller, baby"?

What a great title to the article!

If it's true, which it probably is, I'd say Elliot needs a bit more than management training, maybe an intervention is called for.

a lot more about power oriented and criminal democrats than I would have ever thought about a year ago.

A politician that speaks my language! Good for Elliot telling like it is and not pussy-footing around.

Far too many of our political leaders will sit there like a bunch of back stabbing sniveling little cowards.

I find myself starting to like Spitzer.  Sounds like he will tell you how it is. Refreshing!

Screw Hillary- Spitzer for President! (remember- Im first to call for that)

Maybe the first to call for it here, but I've definitely heard it spoken a few times.

wouldn't you know it.  I criticize a democrat and you immediately say he's your kind of democrat.

Far too many of our political leaders will sit there like a bunch of back stabbing sniveling little cowards.

It is possible to lead without yelling or bragging.

Most of our leaders are spineless cowards.  Which is even more reason why there is no need to yell at them.

I said "politician" not "Democrat."

The judicial use of a bad temper is one of the most effective management and negotiating tools available.  No one likes to twist the tail of a tiger.

And come on. We all need political leaders and community leaders that we can respect. Bragging? No- stating their accomplishments and political power is certainly not bragging.

Am I bragging when I tell you that I only wear suites from Jos A Banks and Spectors when I am at work or am I just trying to convey my professionalism and success?  Bragging or Professionalism?

Spitzer is communicating his power and authority and it is refreshing.

I cant believe that you would start to be so critical of a politician just as I was starting to think that I was mistaken about him.

Real f------ steamrollers don't have to say they are, particularly to a nobody with no power--you just realize it as you wonder what just ran over you.

Let's be optimistic it was an isolated outburst and not an indication our new best hope has "issues"

I was thinking today, in a way I could not have appreciated a year ago, that our governor's "I'm a fucking steamroller" language (and belief) is the exact sort of agressive bravado that fuels the criminal behavior of political goons.

I voted for this governor enthusiastically.  He says he's done more good in the first weeks than any previous governor.

I profoundly disagree.

He needs to do better.

I couldn't quite make a tune out of this:

This little light of mine -- I'm a fucking steamroller -- I'm going to let it shine.  This little light of mine -- I'm a fucking steamroller -- I'm going to let it shine.  This little light of mine -- I'm a fucking steamroller -- I'm going to let it shine.

My #1 suggestion is let the ideas and proposals win because they are the BEST, not because he's the best bully.

Wasnt that a Johnny Cash song?

After the second stanza you can here a steam wistle.

Kate: Ideas and proposals only win when there is an informed electorate.  New time you have the opertunity to ask some ask then what year Peurto Richo became a state.

Thats why you need a fuckin' steam roller.

and I agree.

yelling at the powerless Jimmy D is like slapping your kid sister in the face because you didn't like what she said.  Anyone can do that.  Your sister might not say it again, but that ain't leadership.

I really hope this is the last time we hear about something like this.

Does Jimmy Disco have a relation to David Disco formerly of Shared Interest Management and now merged with Joseph Conlon (another disastrous manager of financial assets demonstrated by filing bankruptcy) of Diamond Realty Management?  It was David Disco that professed he didn't know that his companies bookkeeper Sandra Krupski who was arrested on grand larceny for embezzling a reported $462,000 from condominium and homeowners associations in the Capital Region.  It was reported that it was the Knox Woods Homeowners Association that reported missing funds of about $10,000 to Disco before any investigation was done.  Had they not, I guess Disco would still be in business as Shared Interest Management and not as Diamond Realty Management.

Spitzer has just entered the crazy Run With The Bulls race and you have to wait and see what he can do.  He has a monumental task and although my dealings with his office have been unsatisfactory, I do not attribute that to him personally.  Like any good politician he takes visible cases.  He will find his former position as Attorney General a cakewalk in many regards especially if citizens do not give him a year without crybabing (is that a word) about everything.   I oppose Charter Schools which it appears that Spitzer supports or giving extra money to Albany for their absolute failure as "educators", however, let him do his thing for the next year and see how things are.  Charter schools are a failed Band-Aid and we will support another failed education system.  Albany has flushed more money down the drains in other areas.  The voucher system has worked in some areas and that might be the way to go in Albany especially with the problems at Albany High School that Dr. Eva and her board have absolutely no idea how to resolve.  Part of the problem is the No Child Left Behind Act that has placed an interesting burden on the school systems.

i don't know much about Jimmy disco other than that he use to be a good hoops player and he wears stupid ties.   Is he just another criminal?

Even if he is, i disagree with Spitzer's approach.  If i was on the phone with the assembly minority leader and I wanted to end the conversation I would use a lot more finesse.  Ever see that scene in the Steve Martin movie Roxanne where he comes up with 20 better insults about his big nose?  I'm thinking there are a least 20 better things spitzer could've said that would be funny as hell.

I agree with you on the issue, DIA, but doesn't any of these guys work?  I mean come on!  Is budget season, we have no comptroller, we are in the midst of a war and I can't read a paper, or turn on the TV with out a clip of a politician commenting on Spitzer's use of the f word.

Move on Folks!  nothing to see here!

The proported exchange with Jimmy (the dribbler) Tedisco coupled with the way the governor is attempting to "steamroll" the Legislature on the Comptroller matter are causes for concern.  Where is Eliot's head these days????

With respect to Tedisco, he will take any noteriety he can get,and Spitzer should know this. Likewise, on the comptroller issue, the law is clear...the legislature appoints.  Shelly & company are well within their rights to snub the governor back and appoint one of their own to this important post.

I find the words "ego" and "stupid" to be very appropriate to the governor's treatment of each of these two matters thus far.  Is Jerry giving him advise here?
