White Men in a Room

I never thought I'd say this, especially after having to cut her a fat check this month, but Betty Barnette and I agree on something.
Barnette said she had no exchange with either Bosworth or Commisso, and she referred to "the handpicked slate," saying, "there was not a black person or a woman represented. It was seven or eight white men in a room and they call this open, good government, I'd have to differ. I call it hypocritical."
Now coming from someone who sent out the election results prior to an election, I have to say that Barnette is also quite a hypocrite here. But we can save that for another day. Hey, at least it wasn't 40 white people in a room like Mayor Jennings' Recapitalize Albany team.

what Ms. Barnette said too.   While I wanted fairness in the city-suburban fight as it was described, I have NEVER for a minute thought that the suburban crowd was more progressive or justice oriented.  They just wanted their shot at power. That's all I see in this arrangement.

Kateb and I actually agree on something.  Not only did Betty Barnett call the Commisso/Bosworth pact "hypocritical", she addressed party rules.

This is a prime example of "back room deals."  The rules need to be changed and approved by the entire committee before co-chairs can be established.  Commisso, Bosworth and their henchmen will shove this down the throats of the committee.

More importantly, does anyone with an IQ over 10 really think that co-chairs can actually function?

Both Bosworth and Commisso will begin slitting each other's throats within 30 minutes of taking office. Jennings & Phil Steck will be back stage sharpening the knives.  Their egos will demand it.

Learn from the mistakes of others???  Rensselaer County tried it recently with disastrous results.

"Commisso, Bosworth and their henchmen will shove this down the throats of the committee."

I hope Ms. Barnette sues.
