"It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage, than the creation of a new system. For the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institutions and merely lukewarm defenders in those who would gain by the new ones." Machiavelli
Tom Reynolds and the Foley Cover UpBy DIA, Section News
So a powerful Republican is having sexual conversations with kids under 18. Ironically the kids are the same sex as the powerful Republican. And when top Republican leaders are notified about it...they do nothing. Like say, NRCC chairmen Tom Reynolds (NY-26).
Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.), who sponsored the page from his district, said he had learned of some of the online exchanges from a reporter some months ago and passed on the information to Rep. Thomas Reynolds (R-N.Y.), chairman of the House Republican campaign organization, the Associated Press reported. Alexander said he did not pursue the matter further because "his parents said they didn't want me to do anything."That's right. Tom Reynolds knew about this months ago. And he did....nothing. Apparently having a Congressman use his position of power to be a sexual predator is a-ok with Tom Reynolds...as long as that Congressman is a fellow Republican. I hope you feel really proud Mr. Reynolds. Sort of like John Sweeney and his approval of the sexual slavery in the Northern Marianna islands. You people are sick and have no morals to speak of. Here is more from from Rochester Turning.
Update [2006-9-30 17:40:5 by Mike the Friday Caller]: via MyDD: (Via Democraticavenger in the comments). Reynolds is not out of the woods on this one. He donated to Foley's re-eleciton campaign in May, three months after he said he told Hastert about Foley's problems. Maybe Reynodls wants to call everyone who published his press release, and tell them that it turns out he remembers that he actually forgot too.
